When planning for in-class team teaching with my own classes, I found it essential to complete an overview document such as this to work out which children would be in each group, what the different stations would be, which teacher would work at each station, how often the children would rotate between stations, and what areas of the curriculum I wanted to prioritse for the team teaching. This document was separate to my own fortnightly planning and the SET teachers’ weekly planning. Separate templates for these are available for SET, and class teachers.
These examples can help to give an idea of how team teaching might be organised, but they are not intended for direct use in another classroom as there are too many variables that need to be taken into account when planning for team teaching such as the number of teachers available, the length of time available, the abilities of the children in the class, and the areas they need to focus on.Â
