WHO RUNS TEACHINGPLANS.IE?
Teachingplans.ie was founded by Claire, a passionate and experienced Irish primary school teacher. Every resource on the site has been carefully crafted with a deep understanding of the challenges teachers face—particularly the time-consuming tasks of recorded preparation and resource creation. Claire’s goal is to provide Irish teachers with exceptionally high-quality, easy-to-use materials that can be quickly customised to suit their students’ needs, giving teachers more time to focus on what matters most—teaching.
Countless hours of research and effort go into every product, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Claire is continually developing new resources, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for today, be sure to check back soon! Through her blog and social media, Claire also shares her favourite teaching tools, practical tips, and step-by-step guides to make teaching easier and more enjoyable.
I qualified as primary school teacher in 2012. I held an Assistant Principal 2 post for 6 years and an Acting AP1 post for 3 years, coordinating the provision of SEN in a large, urban school with a very high percentage of children with SEN and EAL. I have taught in mainstream, as a SET for children with special educational needs, as an English as an additional language (EAL) teacher and an Autism Class teacher. Previously I volunteered as a teaching assistant in a school in Kenya.
In 2026, I am excited to be starting a Masters in the Psychology of Education at Trinity College Dublin.

MY COMMITMENT TO TEACHERS AND EDUCATION
At TeachingPlans.ie, my goal is simple: to support teachers by providing practical, editable resources that genuinely help reduce workload while respecting professional integrity.
I know how overwhelming planning and paperwork can be. Having worked as a class teacher, SET, and autism class teacher myself, I understand the demands placed on teachers and how much time goes into high-quality planning. That’s why every resource on TeachingPlans.ie is created with care, designed to save you time while giving you the flexibility to adapt plans for your specific class.
Thoughtfully Created, Fully Editable Resources
I create editable recorded preparation documents based on the Irish primary school curriculum so that teachers can make them their own. Each resource includes helpful notes and tips to guide you in tailoring the content to suit your students, your teaching style, and your school context.
Rather than offering generic “one-size-fits-all” documents, I design my resources to serve as professional starting points. Teachers can select learning outcomes, assessment methods, and integration opportunities that reflect their unique classroom environment.
I don’t offer resources which are highly specific to individual children such as individualised support plans, as these need to be created based on an individual child’s assessed needs, abilities and specific circumstances.
Sharing Knowledge, Giving Back
I believe in using this platform to give back where I can. I’m a proud member of 1% for the Planet, meaning 1% of all sales go directly to environmental charities. I also offer discounted or pro bono services to charities working in education and regularly publish free resources and blog posts that support teachers in their day-to-day work.
Why Editable Plans Matter
Many of the teachers I’ve worked with are stretched to breaking point. Burnout, paperwork, and a lack of time for actual teaching are common concerns. I believe teachers should have access to high-quality, editable documents that save them time and help them do their job more effectively.
Ideally, editable sample plans and curriculum documents would be provided by the Department of Education. As they are not, I offer an alternative: practical, editable, and easy-to-use resources made by a teacher, for teachers.
A Note on Ethical Practices
I take pride in doing things the right way. All resources on TeachingPlans.ie are:
-
Created from scratch using original content and ideas.
-
Designed using my own devices, with respect for copyright and school property.
-
Free from any real pupil data and compliant with GDPR.
-
Made using properly licensed tools for commercial use where applicable.
I do not share images of children or accept payment to promote third-party products. Any third-party resources mentioned in my blog, on social media, or in other contexts are personally used or recommended by me, as I believe they genuinely support effective teaching.
Final Thoughts
Teachers have always supported each other by sharing plans and ideas. That spirit of collaboration is what drives this site. The resources I create are designed to be helpful, adaptable, and professionally sound, so that teachers can spend less time writing documents and more time focusing on what really matters: their pupils’ learning!
