Frequently Asked Questions – Answers to our most commonly asked questions

Immediately after payment, you will see download link(s) for your product(s) on your screen.

You will also receive your order within minutes of payment via automated email to the address which you provided. The email which you receive will include a download link to access the product. Ensure you click on the link under the “download” column and not the “product” column.

You need to open your downloads and save them to your personal computer. Ensure you click on the link under the “download” column and not the “product” column. Products on teachingplans.ie are continually updated, and once a new version of a product is published, the download links for the previous version are overwritten. For this reason, you are strongly advised to download your product(s) immediately after purchase and save them to your computer so that you do not lose access.

Yes, all products are designed so that they can quickly and easily edited to suit your individual class or students. All products are in fully editable Microsoft Word format, unless specified otherwise (for instance some social stories are in editable Microsoft Power Point format).

The files aren’t saved in “read only” format, but sometimes when files are opened directly from a zipped file, Microsoft Word will display them like this. You just need to extract the files from the folder and they will appear in the correct format. Once you click on the link to download the file, locate it in your computer’s download folder, then right click on it and select “extract all”. The folder will then open for you..

If you do not receive this email within 15minutes of placing your order, please check your spam folder. If the order is not in your spam folder, you may have had a typo when entering your email and you should contact info@teachingplans.ie with details of what you purchased and when you placed your order and we will send you your order via return email.

There are 2 possible reasons for this:

On some computers, when you click on the download link nothing appears to have happened, but the file has in fact downloaded and needs to be accessed through your computer’s download folder.

The second reason may be that the product has been edited or deleted since you made your purchase. Products on teachingplans.ie are continually updated, and once a new version of a product is published, the download links for the previous version are overwritten. For this reason, you are strongly advised to download your product(s) immediately after purchase and save them to your computer so that you do not lose access. If your download link stops working within 6months of placing your order and you have not yet downloaded it and saved it to your computer, please email info@teachingplans.ie with your order number and we will re-send the product to you via return email.

This will depend on the extent of the update to the product. If a product has been completely redesigned, and/ or if a price increase has been applied to reflect this additional work, then it will not be possible to get the new version free of charge.

If the product has had minor updates, we are happy to share the new version for free. In this case, please contact info@teachinigplans.ie with details of your order number and request.

No time limit has been set on the download links for the products, however teachingplans.ie is committed to continually improving products and making sure they are as up to date as possible. Once a new version of a product is published, the download links for the previous version are overwritten. For this reason, you are strongly advised to download your product(s) immediately after purchase and save them to your computer so that you do not lose access.

Hyperlinks appear as blue underlined text and they are usually there to help you find a resource that has been mentioned in the document you have purchased. To open a hyperlink, you need to make sure that you have selected “enable editing” once you open your download. You then need to click on the hyperlink while holding down the “ctrl” key on your keyboard.

Hyperlinks bring you to a website which is external to teachingplans.ie where the resource can be found. The owners of those websites may remove the product from their website or delete the webpage so the hyperlink may eventually stop working. Teachingplans.ie has no control over this and cannot accept responsibility for hyperlinks not working when external websites are changed, although we do our best to keep hyperlinks updated in products.

Right click on the file as it appears in your computer’s download folder and click “extract all”.

When the documents are opened with some older versions of Microsoft Word, the tables in the document may not display correctly. If there is a folder in your download called “compatibility versions” then you should access the files from there. If there isn’t a folder with this in your download, and you are having display issues, please contact info@teachingplans.ie via email with your order number and details of your issue and you will be sent a compatibility mode version.

You need to have Microsoft Office on your computer in order to be able to edit the documents from teachingplans.ie.

Once you open the document, a message will appear to ask if you want to edit the document. You need to select “enable editing”.

Once you have Microsoft Office on your computer, and you have selected “enable editing” you will be able to edit the documents unless there is an issue with your computer or Microsoft Word software.

On some computers, when you click on the download link nothing appears to have happened, but the file has in fact downloaded and needs to be accessed through your computer’s download folder.

There are 2 possible explanations for this:

1.You have accidentally placed the product in your cart more than once. Please contact info@techingplans.ie with the details of your order number and your request. Refunds take up to 10 days to process by our payment platform Stripe, so please take care to ensure you only add an item to your cart once if you only need one licence.

2.Occasionally a bank will authorize a charge, which causes a pending charge, and then capture it, causing another charge, in quick succession. When this happens, a customer may see a pending charge and a second charge for the same amount. If you are seeing the charge twice on your bank statement, please reach out to your bank to see whether this is what has happened here. If this is the case, the pending authorization should fall off your card within 5 business days.

No, the cost of a product cannot be split amongst 2 teachers at the same class level. All downloads from teachingplans.ie constitute copyrighted material that and each purchase gives an individual licence for one teacher to use the resources.

Where multiple teachers in a school are at the same class level and would like to use the same resource, an individual purchase is necessary for each teacher.

Resources on this website are licenced for individual (single) use only. Each person who will use the resource needs to purchase a separate licence. Individual licences are non-transferrable and may not be transferred to another teacher. If you are purchasing a resource for your school and for example, it is for 2 teachers to use, you will need to purchase 2 licences.

As you will receive your download immediately, unfortunately returns/ refunds are not possible unless there is a problem with the product. All of the products have a detailed description as well as preview pictures, so you can be sure that the product is suitable for you before you purchase. No, all products are available as digital downloads only as they are designed to be edited by you to suit your individual class and students.

At present we have sample fortnightly plans available for Infants – First Class only. Sample fortnightly plans for other classes will be available in the future! Get notified when more they are added by following @teachingplans.ie on Instagram and Facebook.

A cuntas mĂosĂşl is simply a record of the work you have covered with your students for the previous month. The easiest way to do a cuntas mĂosĂşil is to tick or mark what you have covered on your short term plans, and to write a short reflection. There is space on our sample short term plans and templates for you to do this.

We also have a Cuntas MĂosĂşil template and completed sample for class teachers based on the 2021 Preparation for Teaching and Learning Guidance for All Primary and Special Schools here and one that is suitable for SET and EAL teachers here.

We are unable to provide a completed cuntas míosúil for each month and class as we do not know what work you have covered with your students!

All of the products on the website are in fully editable format so you can easily edit them to suit your own students’ needs and to make them more personal and useful to you.

For class teachers, our long and short term subject plans will save you countless hours as the content is already pre-populated, so instead of typing everything from scratch, you can simply edit what is there to suit. The sample plans provide suggested content for teachers who are new to a class level or for those who would like some new ideas, but you can easily change this to suit your own circumstances. You are encouraged to personalise the plans so that they are useful to you and reflect what you will teach your students.

Our planning templates for SET teachers will save you time as you won’t have to create your own templates from scratch. The sample completed plans will show you how to fill out the templates, but these are to illustrate how to complete the document only. As support planning is highly specific to individual children, the sample plans provided will not be suitable to use for children you are working with.

We provide editable sample planning documents that you can easily and quickly customise for your individual class and whatever scheme you are using for different subjects.

The sample long term plans provide suggested content for teachers who are new to a class level or for those who would like some new ideas, but this can easily be edited to suit whatever scheme/ content you wish to cover.

Many publishers now have an outline of their scheme’s content as part of their digital resources, so if you wish, you can include this with your planning documents.

The short answer is no, and there are a number of reasons for this. The time it would take to create customised plans for every booklist and scheme out there would make it impossible, and the cost to reflect this would be too restrictive. There could also be issues with copyright if using publishers’ content.

Furthermore, our intention is to provide editable sample planning documents that you can easily and quickly customise for your individual class and whatever scheme you are using for different subjects. Much of the plans will remain the same regardless of whatever scheme you are using, and editing it to suit takes a fraction of the time that it would take to type everything from scratch. Editing the plans to suit is an important step for teachers to take in order to ensure they are familiar with the plans’ content as well as their suitability for their individual students.

We do provide suggested content and activities for teachers who are new to a class level or for those who would like some new ideas or who don’t rely on publisher’s schemes, but this section can be edited and you can take some or none of the ideas as desired. Also many publishers now have an outline of their scheme’s content as part of their digital resources, so if you wish, you can delete the suggested content provided and include the publisher’s outline with your planning documents instead.

Support plans are highly specific to a child and their individual identified needs. We provide planning templates for support planning, as well as sample completed plans to demonstrate how they are done, but we cannot provide plans for individual children. We have a free guide on how to identify a child’s priority learning needs, to writing SMART targets, and to completing support plans here.

Yes, simply enter in their email address at the checkout when making your purchase and the email with the download link will be sent to them.

Alternatively, if you wish to send them a coupon code to purchase something of their choice on the website this can be arranged. Please email your request to info@teachingplans.ie.

We strive to ensure that products on teachingplans.ie are fairly priced and offer incredible value for money given the time they will save you. Each product takes a considerable amount of time for us to research and create (for instance every single sample long term subject plan took approximately 40 hours to complete). The prices shown reflect this work so unfortunately discounts are not possible.

We also offer a number of resources completely free of charge and provide advice and assistance via our blog and social media pages to provide added value to customers.

We have multi-class sample plans for classes that are at the same curricular level/ stage e.g. Junior and Senior Infants. Children at a different curricular level/ stage have different learning objectives/ outcomes so they need to have separate planning documents.

At the moment we only have products which have been created with English medium primary schools in mind. It is our intention to create the resources for Gaelscoileanna at some point in the future, however this will be a long term project. Stay up to date on developments on this by following our Facebook and Instagram. pages.

All of the resources we have at present are currently on the website. New products are continually being created and are uploaded regularly. Some resources take a huge amount of time to create, for instance sample planning bundles for the year, and so it may be a considerable time before they are uploaded.

The free resources section on teachingplans.ie is ever expanding and additional free resources are added regularly, with the main limit on this being time constraints! It takes a colossal amount of time to create each resource and to run the website, so the pace at which I can add additional resources is slow.

There are considerable expenses involved in running a small business, but once these are covered and I am being compensated for the time it takes to create the content, then I am happy to share as many free resources as possible, because ultimately I aim to make teachers’ lives easier!

The Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) (Amendment) Act of 2019 forbids the sale of products which enable academic cheating, hence the products on teachingplans.ie are not suitable for use by student teachers for teaching practice, college assignments or any other college or course related work. The most reliable way is to send an email to info@teachingplans.ie or to fill out the contact form here (please refrain from doing both as it slows down response times). Notifications from communications sent via social media are not always received as they often go into a “requests” folder, so email is the best option.

If your query relates to an existing order, please include your order number (from the order email) with your query. In most instances queries are dealt with faster, but we kindly request that you allow 48 hours for a response during busy periods.

In order for your query to be dealt with as quickly as possible, please refrain from sending multiple communications via different channels e.g. social media and email, relating to the same issue/ query.
