Immediately after completing your payment, download link(s) for your product(s) will be displayed on your screen. We strongly recommend downloading and securely saving a copy of your product(s) straight away to your computer.

In addition, an automated email containing your order will be sent to the email address you provided during checkout within minutes of payment. Please ensure that your email address is entered correctly and that your inbox can receive messages (e.g., it’s not full). If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.

The email will include a download link for your product—be sure to click the link in the “Download” column, not the “Product” column, to access your files.

Upon receiving the email with your download links, open the email and click on the link under the “Download” column to access your product(s). Make sure to save the files to your personal computer immediately.

Please note that products on Teachingplans.ie are regularly updated, and when a new version is published, the download links for previous versions will be overwritten. Therefore, it is strongly advised to download your product(s) right after purchase and save them securely to ensure you do not lose access.

Yes, the product download link will expire. Products on teachingplans.ie are continually updated, and when a new version is released, the download link for the previous version is overwritten. For this reason, it is important to download and save your product immediately after purchase. This is highlighted during the checkout process, in the automated email containing your download link, and in the “Please Read” document within your download folder.

If you have missed the opportunity to download your product and the link has expired, please contact info@teachingplans.ie with your order number, and we will resend the product via email if it is within 6 months of your original order date.

All recorded preparation templates and sample documents are designed to be easily edited to suit your specific class or student needs. Unless otherwise stated, resources are provided in fully editable Microsoft Word and/or Google Docs formats. Some resources—such as social stories—may be available in editable Microsoft PowerPoint format.

A small number of resources that do not require editing (such as printable workbooks or guides) are provided in PDF format only.

The format of each product is clearly listed in the product description, so please review this information carefully before purchasing to ensure you have the appropriate software.

Yes—all planning and recorded preparation products are provided in a fully editable format, allowing you to personalise them to suit your students’ needs and make them more relevant and useful for your own context.

For class teachers, the long- and short-term subject recorded preparation documents are pre-populated to save you time. Rather than starting from scratch, you can simply adapt the suggested content to suit your class level, teaching style, and school context. These documents are especially useful for teachers who are new to a class level or seeking fresh ideas.

For SET teachers, the recorded preparation templates eliminate the need to design your own planning formats. Sample completed versions are included to show how the templates can be used, but these are for illustrative purposes only. Because support planning is highly individualised, the sample content will not be suitable for your specific pupils, and you are encouraged to customise the documents accordingly.

The plans available on TeachingPlans.ie are based on a close reading of the curriculum documents published by the NCCA and the Department of Education, along with the Department’s Preparation for Learning, Teaching and Assessment Guidance for all Primary and Special Schools (2026), which outlines the expectations for teachers’ planning.

Our recorded preparation documents are not based on any particular publisher programme. Instead, they are designed as editable sample planning documents that teachers can easily adapt to suit their own class context and whichever schemes or resources they choose to use for different subjects.

The redevelopment of the primary curriculum has introduced subject specifications based on learning outcomes (rather than content objectives as was the case with the 1999 curriculum). As with previous curriculum developments (such as the Primary Mathematics Curriculum), teachers interpret the curriculum documents and planning guidance when developing their own classroom planning.

These resources are intended to support that process. They translate curriculum learning outcomes into possible learning experiences and are fully editable so that teachers can adapt them to suit their own class context and their school’s agreed curriculum plan.

They do not replace whole-school curriculum planning, which is developed collaboratively by school staff and sets out the scope and sequence of learning across class levels.

If you click the download link and nothing appears to happen, it’s possible that the file has already downloaded to your computer, but you may not have noticed. Please check your computer’s “Downloads” folder to see if the file is there.

Additionally, some web browsers may block downloads by default, so you might want to check your browser’s settings to ensure that downloads are permitted. If you’re still experiencing issues, try using a different browser or device.

If the download still doesn’t initiate, please contact info@teachingplans.ie with details of your order number, and we will assist you further.

There are two possible reasons for this:

1. File Already Downloaded: On some computers, when you click the download link, it may appear that nothing has happened, but the file has actually been downloaded. Please check your computer’s “Downloads” folder to see if the file is already there.

2. Product Update or Deletion: Products on teachingplans.ie are regularly updated, and when a new version is released, the download links for previous versions are overwritten. The importance of downloading and saving your order immediately to your own device is highlighted in the website’s Terms and Conditions, which you would have acknowledged before placing your order by checking a box. After completing your purchase, an on-screen message advises you to download and save your product(s) right away. The automated email containing your download link also includes this reminder, and there is a “Please Read” document within the download folder itself that further stresses saving a copy securely to your computer.

If your download link is no longer working but you previously downloaded or opened your order, the product should still be in your computer’s downloads folder (unless it was specifically deleted), and you should be able to locate it there.

If you never downloaded or opened your order, and the link no longer works, please email info@teachingplans.ie with your order number. We will resend the product via email if it is within 6 months of your original order date.

If you receive an error message stating that the file name is too long, it may be due to the length of the file path on your computer. This sometimes occurs when you try to open a zipped file directly. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

1. Extract the Files: After downloading the file, locate it in your computer’s download folder. Right-click on the zipped file and select “Extract All.” This will open the folder containing the extracted files.

2. Shorten the File Path: If you still encounter issues, try moving the extracted files to a location on your computer with a shorter file path (e.g., your desktop or a folder with a shorter name).

3. Rename the File: You can also rename the extracted files to give them shorter names if necessary.

If you continue to experience problems, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

If you encounter an error message when trying to make a copy of files in Google Docs, it may be due to several reasons:

1. Browser Compatibility: Google Docs operates within your web browser, and accumulated cache data can lead to glitches. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies to eliminate any potential conflicts. This straightforward step often resolves many common issues. It is also recommended to use Google Chrome rather than another browser for the best experience.

2. Device Limitations: Ensure you are accessing the documents on a computer rather than a phone or tablet, as they will be in read-only format on mobile devices.

3. Permissions Issue: Make sure you are signed into your Gmail account. You will need to be logged in to make a copy of the documents. When you click on the link, you should select “Make a Copy” when prompted.

4. Incognito Mode: If issues persist, try opening the link in an incognito or private browsing window. This can help avoid any potential conflicts with browser extensions or cached data.

Most products on TeachingPlans.ie are provided in an editable format, except for a small number of printable workbooks or guides which are supplied as non-editable PDFs. The product description will clearly state the file format (e.g. Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or non-editable PDF), so please check this before purchasing.

If your file is in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint format, you will need Microsoft Office installed on your device. When you open the file, you may see a message prompting you to “Enable Editing”—you must click this button before you can make changes.

If Microsoft Office is correctly installed and you have enabled editing, you should be able to edit the document. If not, the issue may be with your software or device settings.

If you’re using an older version of Microsoft Word, some tables or elements in the document may not display correctly. Check if there is a folder in your download labeled “Compatibility Versions.” If so, try opening the files from there for better compatibility.

If your download doesn’t include a “Compatibility Versions” folder, or you’re still experiencing display issues, please contact us at info@teachingplans.ie with your order number and a description of the problem. We will provide you with a version of the document optimised for compatibility with older software.

Hyperlinks in the document appear as blue underlined text and are provided to help you access external resources mentioned in the product. To use them, make sure you select “Enable Editing” when you open the file. Then, hold down the “Ctrl” key on your keyboard and click on the hyperlink to follow it.

Please note that these hyperlinks lead to websites external to teachingplans.ie. If the owners of those websites remove or change the resource, the hyperlink may eventually stop working. While we make every effort to keep hyperlinks updated, teachingplans.ie cannot accept responsibility for changes to external websites that cause links to break.

To unzip a file, follow these steps:

1. Locate the downloaded zipped file in your computer’s “Downloads” folder or wherever you saved it.
2. Right-click on the zipped file and select “Extract All” from the drop-down menu.
3. A pop-up window will appear asking where you’d like to extract the files. Choose a location (or keep the default) and click “Extract.”
4. Once extraction is complete, the unzipped folder will open, allowing you to access the files.

This process will ensure the files are fully accessible and in the correct format for editing or use.

All resources are digital downloads, so once you purchase, you receive an email with a download link.
To access your files on another device, simply:

• Open the original order email on that device and click the download link again, or

• Transfer the file from your first device using a USB key, cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive/OneDrive), or email.

Once downloaded, the file is yours to save and use on any of your own devices.

Our payment platform, Stripe, accepts payment via debit and credit cards, which is the easiest and fastest way to make a purchase. If you do not have access to a debit or credit card, we can arrange payment via bank transfer. However, please note that products cannot be sent until payment has cleared. Yes, simply enter in their email address at the checkout when making your purchase and the email with the download link will be sent to them.

For example, each long-term subject plan typically takes around 40 hours to research, write, edit and finalise. Resources are carefully reviewed to ensure they are practical, curriculum-aligned and suitable for real classroom use.

TeachingPlans.ie operates as a fully registered Irish business. This means that all products are created and sold in accordance with Irish tax and business regulations. Running the website also involves ongoing professional and operational costs, including services such as accountancy, website hosting, payment processing and commercial software licences.

Our aim is to provide resources that save teachers considerable preparation time while supporting confident, well-informed planning. The pricing of our resources reflects the time, expertise and professional standards involved in creating and maintaining them.

At TeachingPlans.ie, we work hard to ensure that all our resources are fairly priced, offering excellent value for money — particularly given the time, expertise, and professional standards involved in creating them. For example, each long-term subject plan takes approximately 40 hours to research, develop, and finalise. The prices listed reflect this significant investment of time and quality.

As a fully registered Irish business, we also incur a range of ongoing expenses, including professional services such as accountancy, and commercial user licences for software. These services support the continued development and maintenance of high-quality, reliable teaching resources, but they represent a considerable cost.

For this reason, we are unable to offer discounts. However, we do provide a wide selection of free resources, as well as regular advice and support through our blog and social media channels — ensuring added value for all teachers, regardless of budget.

Unfortunately, there is no formal quality assurance scheme in place for educational resources, akin to Bord Bia’s Quality Assurance Scheme for food products or the QQI award in the further education sector.

While Teachingplans.ie is certified as a member of 1% for the Planet, which reflects a commitment to environmental sustainability rather than quality assurance, we strive to uphold high standards for our resources. Should a recognised industry standard for quality assurance emerge, we will gladly embrace it.

All of the products on teachingplans.ie have a detailed description as well as preview pictures, so you can be sure that the product is suitable for you before you purchase. If you have any questions about a product before purchase, please feel free to email info@teachingplans.ie

There are two possible explanations for this:

1. Duplicate Order: You may have accidentally added the product to your cart more than once. If this is the case, please contact info@teachingplans.ie with your order number and request. Refunds typically take up to 10 days to process through our payment platform, Stripe. To avoid this in the future, please ensure that you only add an item to your cart once if you only need one licence.

2. Pending Authorisation: Occasionally, a bank will authorise a charge, resulting in a pending charge, and then capture it, leading to a second charge in quick succession. If you see both a pending charge and a second charge for the same amount on your bank statement, we recommend reaching out to your bank to determine if this is what has occurred. If so, the pending authorisation should be removed from your card within 5 business days.

Yes, if you accidentally placed an item in your cart twice and only need one licence, you can request a refund for the duplicate purchase. Please contact info@teachingplans.ie with your order number and details of your request. Refunds are processed by our payment platform, Stripe, and may take up to 10 days to appear in your account. In the future, please take care to add items to your cart only once to avoid any unnecessary charges.

Support plans are highly specific to each child and their individual identified needs. While we provide planning templates for support planning and sample completed plans to illustrate how to fill them out, we cannot provide plans for individual children.

However, we offer a free guide on how to identify a child’s priority learning needs, write SMART targets, and complete support plans, which you can access here. This guide is designed to help you tailor support plans to meet the unique requirements of each child.

Special or autism class planning is highly specific to the individual needs of each child, making it impossible to create a general plan that could be easily edited to suit. Children in special classes are often at different class levels, and even when they are in the same class, their needs can vary greatly and children may need plans created using the mild, moderate, or severe GLD curriculum access tool. As such, a generic class-level plan is not suitable for most special classes.

For fortnightly short term recorded preparation in an autism class, the structure would be similar to planning for mainstream classes—you need to plan for all subjects, except for Gaeilge (if all children in the class have exemptions). The template available here works well for short-term recorded preparaion in all settings. No, individual licences are required for each teacher who wishes to use resources from teachingplans.ie. Purchasing a product for a school or a group of teachers does not provide a shared licence. Each teacher must obtain their own individual licence to ensure compliance with our copyright policy. If you are looking for a resource to be used by multiple educators, please reach out to us at info@teachingplans.ie to discuss the possibility of a group or school licence. We do not currently offer bulk pricing as our products are licensed for individual use. However, feel free to contact us if you have any specific queries regarding larger orders for schools.

All of the resources we currently offer are available on the website, and you can use the search function to help you find them. We are continually creating new products and regularly uploading them. Some resources, such as sample recorded preparation bundles for the entire year, take a significant amount of time to develop, so it may be a while before they are uploaded.

At present, sample short-term recorded preparation documents are available for a limited number of class levels and months only. You can see what is currently available by using the class level menu on the website.

Creating short-term recorded preparation documents is extremely time-consuming, so further class levels and months will be added slowly over time. Please note that this is a long-term project, and new class levels or months are unlikely to be added quickly.

Our multi-class long-term recorded preparation bundles are designed for classes that are working at the same stage of the curriculum.

Where classes are at the same stage, the learning outcomes are the same and can be grouped together easily in one multi-class long-term document. For example, Junior and Senior Infants can be grouped together, as can First and Second Class.

Where classes are at different stages of the curriculum, such as Senior Infants and First Class, they will be working from different learning outcomes. This means that one shared long-term recorded preparation document will not align seamlessly across both class levels. For this reason, we do not currently offer combined bundles for classes that are working at different curriculum stages.

If you are teaching a multi-class setting with classes at different stages, it is perfectly acceptable to use two sets of long-term recorded preparation documents for each subject. For example, if you are teaching Infants to Second Class, you could purchase both the Multi-Class Infants bundle and the Multi-Class First and Second Class bundle.

The long-term recorded preparation documents include suggested content, topics and learning experiences for each month. These are intended to support teachers who are not following a publisher’s scheme, or who would like additional ideas. This section can be adjusted to suit the content you wish to cover with your own class.

You may also choose to merge two sets of long-term recorded preparation documents into one multi-class document. While this will require some editing, it should still save significant time compared to creating multi-class long-term recorded preparation from scratch.

Whether you’re eligible for the updated version depends on the nature of the changes. If the product has been completely redesigned or a price increase has been applied to reflect significant additional work, the new version will not be available free of charge.

However, if the product has only had minor updates, we are happy to share the updated version with you at no extra cost. In this case, please contact info@teachingplans.ie with your order number and request.

While our products are digital resources rather than tangible goods, significant updates still take considerable time and resources to create and this needs to be reflected in the cost.

Please consider this example of to help understand our policy on this: Imagine you buy a smartphone in 2021. The company that makes the phone regularly releases updated models with new features, better performance, and enhanced design—each requiring extensive research, development, and resources. While your original phone may receive some software updates for a period, you wouldn’t expect to be handed the latest model every year just because you bought one device once. The same applies to educational resources, which also require time and effort to revise or redesign.

Just as technology and other industries operate with fair limits on updates and upgrades, educational resources need a similar approach. Minor improvements might be shared as a courtesy, but a substantial redesign, like a new smartphone model, is generally a new product that requires a new purchase.

We do not sell a completed cuntas míosúil for each month and class, as a cuntas míosúil is a record of the specific work you have covered with your students.

The easiest way to compile a cuntas míosúil is to tick or mark what you have covered on your short-term plans and write a brief reflection. Our sample short-term planning templates provide space for this.

Some schools prefer that teachers have a separate document for their cuntas míosúil. If this is the case for you, we do sell a cuntas míosúil template and completed sample for class teachers here and another version that is suitable for SET and EAL teachers here. These include the sections recommended in the 2021 Preparation for Teaching and Learning Guidance for All Primary and Special Schools.

We offer editable sample recorded preparation documents that you can easily and quickly customise for your individual class and the specific scheme you are using for various subjects.

Our sample long-terms provide suggested content for teachers who are new to a class level or seeking new ideas. However, these can be easily edited to align with whatever scheme or content you wish to cover.

Many publishers now provide an outline of their scheme’s content as part of their digital resources. If you prefer, you can incorporate this into your documents for added convenience.

The short answer is no, and there are a number of reasons for this. The time it would take to create customised plans for every booklist and scheme out there would be impossible, and the cost to reflect this would be too restrictive. There could also be issues with copyright if using publishers’ content.

Furthermore, our intention is to provide editable sample planning documents that you can easily and quickly customise for your individual class and whatever scheme you are using for different subjects. Much of the plans will remain the same regardless of the scheme, and editing them to suit your needs takes a fraction of the time it would take to type everything from scratch. Customising the plans is an important step for teachers, ensuring they are familiar with the content and its suitability for their individual students.

We do provide suggested content and activities for teachers who are new to a class level, those looking for fresh ideas, or those who don’t rely on publishers’ schemes. These sections are editable, allowing you to take as much or as little of the ideas as desired. Many publishers now offer an outline of their scheme’s content as part of their digital resources, so if you prefer, you can delete the suggested content and include the publisher’s outline in your planning documents instead.

Currently, the majority of our editable downloads are available in Microsoft Office format. We are continually updating our resources, and aim to provide Google Docs versions as well as Microsoft Office formats in the future. Many of our resources have been updated, but please check the product descriptions carefully to be sure. If a Google Docs version is available for a specific product, it will be clearly indicated in the product description. 

Yes, the free resources section on teachingplans.ie is constantly expanding, with new resources added regularly. However, time constraints play a big role in how quickly these resources can be made available. Each resource takes a significant amount of time to create, and running the website involves considerable expenses.

Once these expenses are covered and I am fairly compensated for the time it takes to develop the content, I am happy to share as many free resources as possible. My ultimate goal is to make teachers’ lives easier!

At present, Teaching Plans resources are designed for English-medium primary schools.

While I have considered creating Irish-medium versions of the resources in the past, unfortunately I do not currently have the time or capacity to create and maintain separate versions for Gaelscoileanna or scoileanna lán-Ghaeilge.

My current focus is on keeping the existing English-medium resources up to date in line with the redeveloped Primary Curriculum.

For this reason, I regret that Irish-medium versions of the resources are not currently available.

No, teachingplans.ie does not sell lesson plans for teaching practice. The Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) (Amendment) Act 2019 prohibits the sale of products that enable academic cheating. As a result, the resources on the site are not intended for use by student teachers for teaching practice, college assignments, or any other course-related work.

We do not offer printed copies of downloads. All products from teachingplans.ie are available as digital downloads only.

If you are experiencing issues with printing your downloaded documents, please consider the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Printer Settings: Ensure that your printer is properly connected and set as the default printer on your computer. Verify that you have selected the correct paper size and orientation in the print settings.

2. Enable Editing: If the documents are opened in “read-only” mode, you may need to enable editing. Open the document and look for the “Enable Editing” button at the top of the window. Click on it to allow editing and printing.

3. Use Compatible Software: Ensure that you are using a compatible version of Microsoft Word or another suitable application to open the document. Some older versions of software may not support certain formatting.

4. Print Preview: Before printing, use the “Print Preview” option to see how the document will look when printed. This can help identify any formatting issues.

5. Update Software: Make sure your printing software and drivers are up to date. Outdated software can lead to printing problems.

Please note that there are no settings or restrictions applied by teachingplans.ie on printing the documents. Any issues with printing are due to an error with your own printer or computer, and other than providing the above suggestions, teachingplans.ie cannot assist in resolving this. 

Where a resource has been fully updated for September 2026 and the redeveloped Primary Curriculum specifications, this will be stated clearly in the product description.

Many resources have also been reviewed in light of the updated 2026 Preparation for Learning, Teaching and Assessment guidance. The changes from the 2021 guidance are minimal in relation to recorded preparation, and the recommended sections to include in recorded preparation remain largely the same.

During the 2026/2027 school year, schools will begin implementing one of the new curriculum areas as part of the phased rollout of the redeveloped Primary Curriculum. Some resources may therefore need to be adapted depending on the curriculum area your school is implementing and when implementation begins.

Please check the individual product description before purchasing, as this will give the most accurate information about whether that resource has been updated for September 2026.
