The plans contain all sections suggested by the NCCA in their planning framework including aims, learning outcomes for each strand, methodologies, differentiation, assessment, as well as linkage and integration. These sections remain the same in all 3 versions of the plans: Junior Infants, Senior Infants, Multi-Class Infants.
In addition to the above sections, there is a detailed content section for each class level in both the Gaeilge and English plans which gives suggested poems, rhymes, stories etc. that can be covered each month.
The Primary Language Curriculum requires that early reading and writing in Irish be covered at Infant level and I have included activities for this. These plans are not based on a particular scheme, but contain suggestions for content that I have found work well with infants.
The suggested content is different for JI and SI, and a Multi-Class Infants can use it as a year 1/ year 2 option. If you are following a particular scheme and wish to include that, most publishers have a yearly outline of the content to cover each month as part of their digital resources and if you prefer, you can simply copy and paste this content instead of my suggestions.
The plans are for a whole year, however I have a separate table for Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3, so even if you are doing your long-term plans by term you can just keep the section you need.
