EAL Weekly Plans for the Year – B1 (Threshold) Level

This comprehensive planning bundle contains 27 fully editable short term recorded preparation documents designed to support EAL pupils working at B1 (Threshold) level across the school year.

The plans are practical and grounded in the Up and Away EAL Language Support Curriculum, while also supporting clear alignment with the Primary Language Curriculum and the 2021 Preparation for Teaching and Learning Guidance.

How the plans are structured:

The 13 Units of Work from Up and Away are distributed across the school year. Units with more content are planned over several weeks, while others may be covered within a shorter timeframe. Units are grouped logically rather than followed in strict sequence, reflecting how EAL teaching typically unfolds in practice.

Time is typically allocated in September, December, and June for assessment using the Primary School Assessment Kit (PSAK). As these periods are assessment-focused and time-intensive, the number of weekly teaching plans is slightly lower than the total number of teaching weeks in the school year. This reflects typical EAL practice.

Flexible and teacher-friendly:

These plans are designed to save time, not to dictate practice. All content is pre-populated so you can adapt what is already there rather than starting from scratch. You can edit, extend, shorten, or reorganise plans to suit:

Can I purchase plans with another teacher in my school who is also an EAL teacher?/ Can we split the cost if we are both using them?

No, the cost of a product cannot be split amongst 2 teachers. All downloads from teachingplans.ie constitute copyrighted material that and each purchase gives an individual licence for one teacher to use the resources. Where multiple teachers in a school would like to use the same resource, an individual purchase is necessary for each teacher.

Yes, the download includes a link to make your own copies of these plans in Google Docs.

Can you post me printed copies of my order?

No, all products are available as digital downloads only as they are designed to be edited by you to suit your individual class and students.
