Personal Pupil Plan (PPP) Template and Sample

Important note: 

The Personal Pupil Plan (PPP) remains an option for planning for pupils with care needs and SNA support under Circular 0030/2014.

However, a separate PPP is not necessarily required. NCSE guidance has stated that the PPP requirement may be incorporated into the Student Support File, and the NCSE’s 2024 SNA Toolkit provided a suggested template for doing this by integrating care-needs targets alongside learning and wellbeing supports within the Student Support Plan.

This means that schools may currently:

• continue to use a separate PPP, or
• use an integrated Student Support Plan, where learning and care needs are planned for together within the Student Support File.

While both approaches are currently possible, the NCSE’s more recent guidance and templates suggest a clear move towards a more integrated approach to learning and care-needs planning, rather than maintaining separate documents.
