- Many children now have programmes with occupational therapy exercises/ movement break exercises that they are to complete in school. This is example of how I have divided up the activities that were in many of my students’ OT school programmes over the course of a week so that there is variety each day and to ensure they are covering them all over the course of the week.
- I am not an occupational therapist however; I have been shown by a number of occupational therapists how to do these exercises safely with children. If you are unsure of how to do an activity that the child’s OT has recommended or that is mentioned above, you should contact the OT for clarification.
- This schedule is to demonstrate how you could fit in many different activities over the course of a week. These exercises may not be suitable or appropriate for all children. You should check the child’s individual OT school programme and choose appropriate activities that have been recommended for the child you are working with and amend this schedule as appropriate.
