Social Stories/ Narratives

Social Stories™ were created by Carol Gray in the 1990s to help autistic individuals understand what to expect, and what is expected of them, in different situations.

Teachingplans.ie provides sample stories which are:

  • Time-saving – Pre-written, structured stories ready to be personalised.
  • Fully editable – Adjust text, images, and wording to fit individual student needs.
  • Expertly written – Written with care by a professional with training in this area.
  • Fairly priced – We offer many completely free stories, and charge a very small fee for our paid ones. 

📌 Note: While we use the term Social Story so teachers can easily find what they need, some of our stories are actually social narratives, as they may not meet all of the strict criteria set out by Carol Gray in order to be classified as an official Social Story™. However, they are still highly effective and carefully written to support autistic learners.
